what is the Casting Process Like?
Ever wonder what is the process of creating a Bas-relief flower imprint in gypsum?
Here is the process that I follow. I used SPANISH LAVENDER. I love the spikes on top and the scent is divine.
1. Roll out the clay
2. Place and roll the live flowers into the clay to create an everlasting imprint
3. Pace the mold around the imprint and pour in gypsum to caste (let it cure for about 40 minutes, before taking out of the mold)
4. The best part is pulling the clay from the gypsum to be surprised what transpired. So exciting. Not all casting go well, but it is all a learning process to me.
5. Wash and clean the beautiful piece of art and let it sit for 3-4 days to dry and it turns white
